Together on this autumn’s programme – and the path towards Energy Cluster Norway
Autumn 2026: New meeting places, collaboration and project opportunities
This autumn, Energy Valley is launching an extensive programme of activities. Our aim is to use our meeting places to connect expertise, identify industrial needs and develop new collaboration and project opportunities together with our members.
At the same time, Energy Valley is in the midst of an important development process. Through the planned merger with GCE Ocean Technology and Energy Transition Norway, we will establish Energy Cluster Norway – ECN.
A broader offering for members
This collaboration enables us to bring together the expertise, networks and resources of three strong industry clusters. Alongside this autumn’s professional activities, we are therefore working to align processes, use resources more efficiently and realise economies of scale.
Efficiency is not, however, an end in itself. Our main ambition is to provide members with a broader and stronger offering through:
- more relevant meeting places and professional arenas
- access to a larger national and international network
- broader industrial and technological expertise
- more opportunities for collaboration across sectors and value chains
- greater capacity for project development and consortium building
- better access to Norwegian and European funding opportunities
This autumn’s activities will help build this collaboration in practice. Several events and project processes are already being carried out jointly across the three clusters.
From mobilisation to concrete projects
Over recent years, Energy Valley has built an extensive network and established several Norwegian and European project initiatives. In autumn 2026, we are taking this work one step further.
The activities will form part of an integrated project pipeline in which we:
- identify challenges, technological opportunities and project ideas among our members
- connect companies with relevant R&D communities and partners
- develop ideas into concrete project concepts
- build Norwegian and international consortia
- assess relevant funding opportunities
- prepare projects for Norwegian and European applications
We will pay particular attention to opportunities through Horizon Europe, Digital Europe, Eurostars, the EIC, the Clean Energy Transition Partnership, the Clean Hydrogen Partnership and relevant Cascade Calls. European opportunities will also be considered alongside Norwegian and regional funding schemes.
This autumn’s programme
24–27 August: ONS 2026
Energy Valley will participate at ONS together with Energy Cluster Norway. We will use the event actively for member dialogue, international networking and the identification of new project opportunities.
- 24 August: EU @ ONS – in collaboration with Energy Transition Norway
- 25 August: AI @ ONS – Energy and AI in Akershus
17 September: TechThursday – From project idea to Horizon Europe
A practical introduction to how industrial needs and project ideas can be developed for Horizon Europe and other funding programmes.
24 September: Kick-off – Energy and AI in Akershus
The launch of this autumn’s main mobilisation platform for artificial intelligence and energy. We will bring together companies, R&D communities and public-sector stakeholders to identify priority AI needs and potential collaborative projects.
8 October: TechThursday – AI in the energy sector: From use case to project
How can specific AI needs in industry be developed into pilots, collaborative projects and fundable project concepts?
14 October: Industry Science Meet Up
Held in collaboration with the University of Oslo and IFE. The aim is to forge closer links between industry and research and identify new collaborative projects.
22 October: AI Use Case Workshop
A working session to prioritise specific AI use cases, establish project groups and assess relevant funding opportunities.
29 October: EU Project Workshop #1 – How do you develop a competitive EU project?
A practical workshop in which participants can further develop their own project ideas and connect with relevant partners.
12 November: TechThursday – European funding opportunities beyond Horizon Europe
We will present opportunities available through Digital Europe, Eurostars, CETP and relevant Cascade Calls, among others.
19 November: Hydrogen in Europe – lessons from BalticSeaH2 and the path ahead
We will share experience from BalticSeaH2, examine the development of European Hydrogen Valleys and discuss opportunities for new hydrogen projects.
26 November: EU Project Workshop #2 – From project idea to international consortium
How do we find the right partners, develop a strong Concept Note and build a competitive European consortium?
3 December: TechThursday – EU programmes and project opportunities in 2027
An early overview of upcoming opportunities and how companies can position themselves before consortia have been established and calls have been finalised.
10 December: Energy Valley Christmas Breakfast
We will review the year, highlight project initiatives from member companies and look ahead to 2027 and Energy Cluster Norway.
Help shape the content
We want to develop the autumn programme together with our members. Please contact us if you have expertise, experience, solutions or projects that may be relevant to others in the cluster.
A contribution could, for example, involve:
- presenting a technology, solution or industrial challenge
- sharing experience from a project, pilot facility or market
- a specific AI, energy or digitalisation case
- a presentation by a specialist or senior leader
- hosting a meeting, workshop or company visit
- participating in a panel discussion or project group
- a project idea for which you are seeking industry, technology or R&D partners
Contributions should provide professional value to the member community. At the same time, the programme should offer strong opportunities to showcase our member companies, their expertise and the people driving progress.
Do you have a project idea?
We would also like to hear from members that:
- have an industrial or technological challenge they would like to solve
- are considering an R&D, pilot or demonstration project
- are seeking collaboration with other companies or research communities
- would like access to European partners or markets
- want to explore opportunities for Norwegian or European funding
- can contribute technology, data, test facilities or other project expertise
The project idea does not need to be fully developed. Our role is to help clarify its potential, connect relevant stakeholders and identify a possible way forward.
Get in touch
Please send us a few lines about what you would like to contribute or develop, the expertise you can offer and the partners you may be seeking.
In autumn 2026, we will both deliver a relevant programme for our members and lay the foundation for a broader offering through Energy Cluster Norway. Together, we aim to create more connections, stronger project initiatives and new opportunities for Norwegian and European collaboration and funding.
