Industry Science Meet Up
From research excellence to industrial collaboration and European scale
Energy Valley, the University of Oslo (UiO) and the Institute for Energy Technology (IFE) invite you to an afternoon designed to turn research insight and industrial needs into concrete opportunities for collaboration.
Europe’s energy transition is unfolding amid geopolitical uncertainty, new demands for competitiveness and resilience, and a growing need to move promising technologies from research towards testing, investment and industrial use. Industry–Science Meetup 2026 brings researchers, technology leaders, specialists and business developers together to examine where cooperation can make a practical difference.
Three connected perspectives
Industrial decarbonisation and emerging value chains:
CO₂ as a feedstock, natural hydrogen and opportunities for new industrial collaboration.
Safe, resilient and resource-efficient energy technologies: Materials, batteries, sensing, diagnostics, safety and longer technology lifetimes.
Europe’s future energy system: Energy and climate scenarios, resilience, industrial choices and the implications for investment and value chains.
Each session combines short research contributions with a concrete challenge from industry and a focused discussion. The aim is not only to present new knowledge, but to identify relevant test cases, project ideas and partnerships.
UiO and IFE will also introduce selected initiatives seeking dialogue with Norwegian industrial actors, including work on natural hydrogen, smarter and more resilient batteries, and next-generation European energy and climate scenarios. Energy Valley will explain how interested companies can engage and how promising opportunities will be followed up.
