Energy Cluster Norway – launched at ONS 2026
Energy Cluster Norway (ECN) was officially launched at the ECN stand during ONS 2026 in Stavanger on Monday 24 August, with Minister of Industry and Commerce Cecilie Myrseth cutting the ribbon.
Geopolitical uncertainty, artificial intelligence, energy security and the green transition are reshaping energy markets faster than ever before — and no single company, or cluster, can meet these challenges alone.
That is the thinking behind Energy Cluster Norway, which unites GCE Ocean Technology, Energy Transition Norway and Energy Valley: three regional clusters joining forces as one national platform representing over 350 companies and organisations across the energy value chain.
ECN brings together expertise, partners, and projects from across the country, a platform, that opens doors none of the three clusters could have reached working alone, Tor Arnesen, Chairman in Energy Cluster Norway
Each cluster contributes distinct strengths to the platform.
GCE Ocean Technology offers its MIT-based scale-up programmes, Energy Transition Norway gives members access to a technical committee where major operators on the Norwegian Continental Shelf evaluate and develop innovation projects, and Energy Valley brings a dedicated focus on AI in energy.
Combined, these services give ECN members a stronger platform for finding partners, developing projects, accessing new markets, and building competitiveness across the full breadth of the Norwegian energy sector.
Throughout ONS week, ECN hosted a seminar programme at Stand 9050, Hall 9, where member companies from all three clusters presented their technologies, shared project experience and explored new collaboration opportunities with the operators, researchers, investors and decision-makers shaping Norway’s energy future.
All members of GCE Ocean Technology, Energy Transition Norway and Energy Valley are automatically ECN members too.
