Energy Valley member Nautilus Subsea and IK-Group recently signed a partnership MoU, which will provide the industry with new technology.

– A close collaboration between us will provide great synergy effects where companies can use their experience and expertise to develop new and exciting products, says Managing Director of Nautilus Subsea Kjetil Høyer.

The two companies each have their own strong product development environments. Where Nautilus is more aimed at permanent subsea products and structures for the settler market, so-called “greenfield”, IK is more aimed at the repair market and existing fields, so-called “brownfield”. In addition, IK has a workshop and a strong manufacturing environment.

Accelerating the project execution

The new partnership will provide the industry with a highly-skilled offering in both IK’s globally recognized bespoke subsea solutions and with Nautilus’s experience in EPC projects and in-depth experience with subsea tie-in systems.

End-user benefits will include accelerated project execution which will deliver cost-saving through reduced offshore campaigns and vessel time. Future maintenance and life of field management bring added benefit, IK Group writes on their website.

Strong market position

– Nautilus and IK are two complementary companies that both have a strong position in their respective market segments. IK has a large international network and a strong position in the world. Nautilus can benefit from this to reach a larger market for its subsea and pipeline products, says Høyer.

Nautilus Subsea was founded in 2014  with employees with a long history in the industry, possessing in-depth experience with subsea tie-in systems. Their staff has developed a new horizontal tie-in system that utilizes the latest technology within the fabrication and subsea metrology.  The result is the patented and field-proven H-Mode™.

Delivering real value to the clients

– This is a significant milestone for IK as it now increases our Subsea offering to include specific tie-in and tie-back solutions, along with our widely known expertise in deepwater subsea maintenance and repair solutions technology. Furthermore, it opens up a new market segment to us especially looking at greenfield developments, which nicely compliments IK’s existing subsea expertise and can deliver real value to our clients.  I am really excited to see this partnership grow, says Roddy Brown, IK’s Business Development Director for Subsea, on IK-Group’s website.

– IK will be able to help us sell this system and other of our products. They also have a strong financial muscle that will help us carry out major projects on the Norwegian shelf and internationally. In addition, IK is a nice and skilled group that is fun to work with, says Høyer.

IK-Group has over 30 years of history as an innovative supplier of specialist products and services for Pipe and Pipelines both subsea and topside.
