Together with Team Norway, Energy Valley will be present at the ‘Energetic Future – Britain and Norway’s’ event in Newcastle on November 3rd. Our Head of Ecosystem Annie Korsmo, will talk about closing the skills gap to deliver the energy transition.

The event will emphasise collaboration between Britain and Norway to deliver the energy transition and will offer a full-day conference including keynote addresses, presentations, case studies and panel discussions, an evening reception, as well as business networking, ‘trade missions’ and a mini-exhibition.

Topics for keynotes, panel discussions and case studies include Collaboration & Innovation in North East England; Sustainability in the Supply Chain; Skills; and the North Sea Link.

Closing the skills gap

Given the growing demand for green energy solutions and decarbonising technology, it is a timely event that provides a foundation for great discussions. During session 3, we will focus on the skills transfer needed for the energy transition. The Energy Industry is expected to see significant growth over the coming years, led by investments in offshore wind, decarbonisation and ensuring energy security. This session will investigate skills shortfalls and how these can be addressed to support a successful energy transition.
