EU Innovation Fund – Open Call
The EU Innovation Funds small scale call is open for applications, and looking to finance low emission technology that is ready to be launched into the market.
The fund is one of the largest investment funds in the world for demonstration and commercialization of innovative low-emission technology, and offer great possibility for Energy Valley member companies.
The application deadline is set for 10th of March 2021, however, there will be yearly calls until 2030. The purpose of the fund is to finance the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions to ensure a climate neutral Europe by 2050, and the EU are looking for projects within the following five areas:
- Innovative renewable energy production
- Innovative low-carbon technologies and processes in energy-intensive industries, including products that replace carbon-intensive products
- Construction and operation of carbon capture and storage (CCS)
- Carbon capture and utilization (CCU)
- Energy storage
The selected projects will be technologically, financially and operationally mature and have to be ready for an investment decision within four years of the allocated EU funds. In the small scale call the EU is looking for projects with capex up to 7,5 million euros, and in this round the total budget is 100 million euros.
