Energy Valley recognized by Vestre for speeding up the energy transition

Minister of Trade and Industry Jan Christian Vestre highlighted the members of Energy Valley’s work to reach net zero in 2050 during Bærumskonferansen.

The net-zero project brings together the supplier industry to discuss opportunities and challenges related to reaching net zero in 2050. Here from the meeting in August, where Daniel Rogstad from Equinor presented the job opportunities within offshore wind. Photo: Linea Bancel.
“I have had the great pleasure of visiting Energy Valley, right up the street. There, you work intensely, committed, and enthusiastically with outstanding people to think broadly and far-reaching about the changes we are going through, and to speed up the energy transformation. I see that in your latest annual report you talk about the 2020s as “the decade for action” – that is absolutely correct. It is now before 2030 that we have the chance to show that despite the fact that we started late, we made the right moves, cut emissions, restructured the economy, and got people to work in new, green value chains” said Minister of Trade and Industry Jan Christian Vestre.
One of Energy Valley’s projects is “The net zero project”, which aims to restructure the Norwegian supplier industry in line with the major energy companies’ net zero strategies and turn a CO2-intensive value chain into a competitive advantage for increased exports from Norway, as an energy nation, and the companies in the cluster. At the same time, the suppliers can contribute to reduced emissions in line with national and global reduction targets and report this.

During the conference, Energy Valley member Haakon Ellingsen received the Miljøfyrtårn-plaque. Miljøfyrtårn is Norway’s most used certification for companies that want to demonstrate their social responsibility and operate more profitably through a sustainable focus.
“We finally have the visible proof that we take our environmental and social responsibility seriously.” says Tina Ree Eines, CEO of Haakon Ellingsen AS.
A Miljøfyrtårn company receives specific requirements regarding waste management, energy-reducing measures, good HSE routines, environmental requirements when purchasing and an environmental focus when transporting. The certification provides concrete tools for environmental management, which make it easier to succeed with a green transition.
Haakon Ellingsen AS was established in 1962. The company has developed into a leading supplier of quality products to the Norwegian offshore, ship, and land-based industry. Get to know Haakon Ellingsen and CEO Tina Ree Eines better in our column Valley Voice.
