10 EU partnerships for the Green and Digital Transition
In February the European Commission proposed the establishment of ten new European partnerships between the EU, the Member States and European Industry. The goal is to accelerate the green and digital transition.
10 billion euros has been set aside to support the partnerships that will be a part of Horiozon Europe. The aim is to improve and accelerate the development of new innovative solutions across different sectors, by mobilizing public and private funding. The partnerships will be open to a wide range of public and private partners from industry, R&I institutes, civil society organisations and public sector.
The partnerships will be formed thematically, and Energy Valley members should take special note of the following ones:
- Key Digital Technologies: The overarching goal of the partnership is to support the digital transformation of all economic and social sectors, the European Green Deal, and to support research and innovation.
- Circular bio-based Europe: The partnership will contribute to achieving climate goals by 2030, pave the way for climate neutrality by 2050 and incrase the sustainability of production and consumption systems.
- Clean Hydrogen: The partnership will accelerate the development and distribution of a European value chain for clean hydrogen technologies, and will contribute to sustainable, carbon-neutral and fully integrated energy systems. Together with the Hydrogen Alliance , it will contribute to achieving the EU’s goals set in the hydrogen strategy. The partnership will focus on producing, distributing and storing clean hydrogen.
- Smart networks and services: The partnership will support technological sovereignity for smart networks and services in line with Europe’s industrial strategy, the new cyber security strategy and the 5G Toolbox.
