Energy and AI in Akershus

04 – 04 Nov08:30 – 11:00
Advokatfirmaet Thommessen, Oslo

This workshop is a part of the Energy and AI in Akershus project, supported by Akershus Fylkeskommune.

We are bringing together challenge owners and subject-matter experts to identify and define challenges in the energy sector and across Akershus where AI can make a difference.

We are now taking the next step with a project aimed at mapping needs and developing selected use cases towards testing and potential pilot projects.

The workshop will begin with a joint introduction, followed by 2–4 working groups, and conclude with short presentations and a plenary discussion. Each group will focus on one specific case. We will form the groups based on which challenges have a clearly identified owner and the participants and expertise needed to move them forward.

Preliminary regional use cases

  • Energy, land use and costs in municipal planningCan scenario analysis provide a better understanding of how land-use and business development plans affect energy demand, capacity and costs?
  • Flexibility in a public building in BærumCan operational data from a specific building demonstrate how energy use can be better managed without compromising operations or comfort?
  • Power outages and critical dependenciesCan a scenario-based exercise make municipal risk and vulnerability assessments (ROS analyses) more actionable by examining how a prolonged power outage affects critical services? An initial exercise could use open or synthetic data.

Potential industrial use cases

  • Critical spare parts and inventory visibility
Can better visibility into inventory, lead times and criticality make it easier to prioritise spare parts and reduce the risk of operational downtime?
  • Security, compliance and sustainability reporting
Can AI speed up the identification of requirements and supporting documentation in procedures and reports, with expert review of the answers?
  • These are proposed case areas. We will select up to four working groups based on interest, clear ownership of the challenges and available capacity. You are also welcome to suggest another industrial challenge.

It would be helpful if you could identify who in your organisation could take ownership of or describe the challenge. If you are not the right person yourself, please feel free to forward this invitation to a colleague or let us know whom we should contact.

The deadline for responses is Friday, 30 October.
